Schneider Electric provides equipment and systems to control and manage energy. Our systems are often responsible for controlling Critical Infrastructure processes in Utility, Oil & Gas, Water, Critical Manufacturing, and Critical Buildings. The threat from Cyber Security attacks on these Critical Infrastructure control systems is increasing worldwide. To manage this threat, we must ensure our products, systems, and solutions deliver the appropriate security protections, features and capabilities.

This role will provide technical leadership to ensure our products are adequately protected from cyber attack. Specifically, this role will define standards, best practices, and proof of concept models for how to secure our products in a customer environment. The tasks will include clear understanding of the customer’s environment, the technical standards being developed, understanding the technologies employed in our design, and the key technologies employed in protecting the products and systems we develop. Actions will include technical investigations of new and relevant technologies, assessment of suitability of the technology to the products and systems made by Schneider, prototyping of concepts, and guiding the development of reusable platforms to accelerate deployment across the product groups. The role will include working with developers in global R&D centers for the different Schneider Business Units, external suppliers and consultants, marketing and strategy teams, and technical experts to develop appropriate technical choices to meet the business and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Learn and understand the product and system architectures strategic to Schneider’s offer
• Apply knowledge of cyber security principles to apply appropriate technical choices to solve customer requirements; e.g. Identity and Authentication
• Develop working prototypes of technical solutions to demonstrate effort and features
• Keep current on best practices / industry standards for cyber security in critical infrastructure.
• Work closely and collaboratively with global technical teams to ensure acceptance of the solutions

Skills:
• Software development for PC (Windows and Linux) and real time embedded environments
• Applying cyber security technology and principles to products and systems serving the critical infrastructure markets
• Knowledge of how to interface real time control systems securely into IT infrastructures
• Cryptography implementation
• Ability to design secure implementations for Web-based and cloud architectures
• Demonstrated capability to lead multi-function, multi-national technical project teams and drive toward a common decision
• Requirements gathering, decision-making, and prioritization skills
• Strong communications, both written and verbal

Experience:
• More than 10 years cyber security experience in a software development environment
• Knowledge and passion for the topic of Cyber Security
• Proven track record of delivery of security-related projects
• Technical knowledge of Critical Infrastructure applications and products including industrial protocols and systems
• Experience designing, implementing and managing a secure infrastructure
• Cyber Security credentials are a plus (e.g. CISSP, GIAC, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree as a minimum.
